For the exclusive Sweet Lake Wellness resort in Zoetermeer, a green setting has been created that blends seamlessly with the sense of calm and relaxation. The resort, located in Van Tuyllpark, is one of the larger wellness complexes in the Netherlands and combines luxury facilities with a generously laid-out garden.

The garden forms an essential part of the overall concept. Visitors move between saunas, pools and relaxation areas via a carefully designed landscape with natural ponds, varied planting and a rich mix of trees. This creates an environment in which indoors and outdoors flow into one another, giving guests the feeling of completely stepping away from their everyday surroundings.

Every part of the design is centred on experience: sheltered places beneath tree canopies, open sightlines over water and greenery, and a seasonal character that changes throughout the year. The planting contributes to a calm, natural atmosphere and reinforces the resort’s identity as a place to slow down and unwind.

The result is a coherent whole in which architecture, technology and greenery strengthen one another, and where the landscape plays an indispensable role in the visitor’s overall experience.
