For this villa in Breda, designed by Van Erk Ontwerpbureau, Van den Berk Boomkwekerijen supplied the trees for the garden designed by landscape architect Erik Knops (Knops Tuindesign). Our adviser Rob Linkels guided the project.

The designer was looking for a seamless transition between garden and house, by bringing the same materials used in the garden design back in the exterior of the house. Mature trees several metres high along the paths to the pool house were deliberately purchased in a fully grown form, so the garden had immediate impact rather than only taking shape after years of growth.

The garden has four terraces, each oriented towards a different time of day or a different use: lounging, breakfast, coffee. Tall hedges form the actual boundary with the surrounding plots.
