This generously conceived family garden in Říčany is based on a large lawn area that connects the house with abundant greenery and creates an open space for everyday use. A key part of the composition is the number of mature trees, selected in larger sizes so the garden gains structure and a strong character from the outset.
The largest trees reach up to 8 metres in height – for example, multi-stemmed silver birches, Betula pendula, were supplied at 500–600 cm, while individual Scots pines, Pinus sylvestris, reached 300–350 cm. Pin oaks, Quercus palustris, were planted with a trunk girth of 30–35 and 35–40 cm. The planting is further composed of Amelanchier lamarckii, ornamental apples and cherries, and other woody plants in various sizes and forms. Some trees were supplied as multi-stems, bringing a more natural and softer structure to the garden. The mature trees are complemented by perennial borders and a carefully maintained lawn, which forms a calm base for the whole composition. Implementation: Atelier Vejtán.
