The development of the business park required compensation: part of the existing greenery had to make way for the buildings. The environmental plan therefore stipulates a green zone around the entire business park. For the client, this was also about greening an otherwise extensively built-up area, climate adaptation and creating a more pleasant working environment for the people who work there.

In recent years, Van den Berk Nurseries has supplied trees for planting along the park’s roads and cycle paths, with a range selected in consultation with the client. Tilia tomentosa 'Doornik' and Tilia flavescens 'Glenleven' form the core of the avenue tree planting, supplemented by Quercus robur, Ulmus minor 'Vada' ® and Fraxinus pennsylvanica 'Summit'. In addition, Acer freemanii 'Autumn Blaze', Acer platanoides, Carpinus betulus, Quercus palustris, Tilia europaea 'Pallida', Ulmus 'Morton Glossy' and multi-stemmed Pinus sylvestris are planted on the roundabouts. This selection alone comprises more than 500 trees, all supplied with wire root balls.

The trees are planted in wide green verges along the roads, between the commercial buildings and the cycle and footpaths. On a business park with halls dozens of metres high, they restore a more human scale at street level, an effect that becomes stronger as the crowns continue to develop.
