Taxus ×media 'Hillii' Taxus ×media 'Hillii'

Ta×us ×media 'Hillii' is a strong large shrub to small tree with dense branching, giving it a compact, full-bodied appearance. At a young age, this cultivar grows broadly upright, but later clearly wider and rounder in shape. Because of its wider shape and dense branching, 'Hillii' is particularly suitable for wide (block) hedges and topiary. 'Hillii' resembles 'Hicksii' in name, but as a plant more like 'Greenland' and 'Overeynderi'. Not least because 'Hillii' is male and 'Hicksii' is female. The poisonous seeds are therefore not formed, although the foliage is also poisonous. However, 'Hillii' does flower profusely, visible by the small yellow buds and clouds of pollen when the plant moves. There are female plants in circulation under the name 'Hillii', but these are not true to type. It is an old cultivar, but still one of the most widely used. Tolerates, like other Taxus, heavy pruning well.
Our trees can only be planted when they don't have any leaves. Due to the this we will start delivering again from November 2025.
