Closed, broad pyramidal tree 15 - 18 m high. It is a vigorous grower with a vertical trunk and a squat, irregular crown. The twigs have no thorns. The irregularly shaped leaves hang on a long leaf stem and consist of a strikingly large top leaf (to approx. 15 cm) and 1 to 3 pairs of small side leaves. In the autumn the greyish green leaves turn yellow. 'Unifoliola' leafs out late in the spring and keeps its leaves remarkably long into the autumn. Produces large flower clusters of approx. 15 cm in June. The flowers are white and aromatic. 'Unifoliola' is sensitive to wind. Winter hardiness zone: 5a
