Quercus robur 'Pectinata' Quercus robur 'Pectinata'

Fagaceae

Quercus robur 'Pectinata' Quercus robur 'Pectinata'

A good selection produced from Q. robur. It remains much less tall than the species. It has a round crown and grows to a height of 10 - 15 m. The bark is dark grey and, in old specimens, deeply grooved. Young twigs are reddish-brown. The most remarkable difference with the species is the shape of the leaves. 'Pectinata' has linear leaves, deeply incised, with elongated narrow lobes. The lobes are straight and are clearly directed to the fore. The tree flowers as the species. The ovoid acorns grouped in twos to sixes follow the flowers and are a maximum of one-third enclosed in the cupule. The cupule is covered with small, triangular, contiguous scales. 'Pectinata' is used as a park tree and for wide avenues and streets.
Our trees can only be planted when they don't have any leaves. Due to the this we will start delivering again from November 2025.
