Prunus x yedoensis is a medium-sized tree that attains a height of 6 - 10 m. The crown is board vase-shaped and the ends of the branches are pendulous so that the crown eventually becomes flattened. The wide oval leaves are 6 - 12 cm long. Emerging leaves are very light green. The autumn colour is yellow. Abundant flowers in April. The flowers are pale pink in the bud and emerge white. They have a slight almond scent. Flower diameter approx. 3.5 cm. Black drupes in the late summer. Winter hardiness zone: 6a
