Prunus serrulata 'Shimidsu' (syn. P. s. 'Miyako' HORT, Japanese for snow queen) is a broad shrub or small tree with horizontally drooping branches. The crown is broad vase-shaped to fan-shaped with drooping branches. Height about 3 to 4 m. The twigs are reddish brown and possess few lenticels. The leaves turn light brown. The flower buds are light pink, the fringed densely double flowers are white and are arranged in hanging clusters on long stems. Flower diameter approximately 5 cm. Flowers late, from mid to late May. Hardiness zone: 6a
