Prunus serrulata 'Fugenzo' has a broad vase-shaped, often flattened crown shape. Branches, especially in later life, become strongly arching. Height 8 - 10 m and often grows equally wide. The twigs are reddish brown and possess few lenticels. The tree flowers in mid-May. From light pink buds appear the, 4 - 5 cm large, white double flowers that glow light purplish pink. Long-flowering. Simultaneously, the young leaves appear, which are deep bronze-coloured. In autumn it turns yellow-orange. Rarely forms fruits. Hardiness zone: 6a. Also known as Prunus serrulata 'Shirofugen'.
