'Caucasica' is a large evergreen shrub to small tree to over 3 m in height, growing to over 4 m in some cases. The densely branched crown is rather slender vase-shaped to oval and clearly upright growing. The annual twigs are yellow-green. The oblong to narrowly elliptical leaves are 12-20 cm long and 3-5 cm wide. The greatest width of the leaf is halfway to slightly above the centre of the leaf blade. The leaf margin is serrated and at the top there is a typical undulation on one side. The leaves are glossy dark yellow-green. The flowers are white, in long erect clusters. Main flowering is in May and June, often followed by a second flowering around the end of August. 'Caucasica' is not a richly flowering cultivar.
'Caucasica' is one of the oldest cultivars of P. laurocerasus and was named in France in 1852. It is an excellent hardy cultivar, suitable for use as a small tree or tall hedge. 'Caucasica' can also be beautiful in plant groups. Hardiness zone 6a.
Our trees can only be planted when they don't have any leaves. Due to the this we will start delivering again from November 2025.
