Prunus 'Hally Jolivette' Prunus 'Hally Jolivette'

Rosaceae

Prunus 'Hally Jolivette' Prunus 'Hally Jolivette'

'Hally Jolivette' is a large shrub with an almost round crown of 3-5 m in height and at least as wide. The crown is densely branched with many, thin twigs. The egg-shaped leaves are 4-6 cm long and dark green. With a diameter of 2-2.5 cm, the flowers are relatively large. They are very pale pink, almost white and semi-double to double. Towards the end of flowering, a dark heart becomes visible in the flowers. The flowers open from the second week in April until the end of April. Because not all the flowers open at the same time, the flowering time is, for an ornamental cherry, relatively long.
If grafted on a tall stem, the compact round crown comes into its own and, because of its small size, 'Hally Jolivette' is fine for use in narrower streets and squares.
'Hally Jolivette' was introduced in 1940 by the Arnold Arboretum in Boston, USA. Hardiness zone 6.
