Malus POM'ZAI ('Courtabri') Malus POM'ZAI ('Courtabri')

Rosaceae

Malus POM'ZAI ('Courtabri') Malus POM'ZAI ('Courtabri')

A slowly growing crab apple that is often grafted onto standard. This produces a small tree that’s eminently suitable as a solitary in small gardens. Depending on the graft height the tree grows to 3 - 4 m. The crown is flattened spherical. The tree produces abundant flowers, light red fading to almost white. In autumn many small yellow fruits with an orange blush appear and remain in the tree for a long time. The tree grows best in nutrient-rich, not too dry soil. It is a very vigorous hybrid cultivar produced by Sapho in France around 1990.
