Liriodendron tulipifera 'Fastigiatum' Liriodendron tulipifera 'Fastigiatum'

Magnoliaceae

Liriodendron tulipifera 'Fastigiatum' Liriodendron tulipifera 'Fastigiatum'

It is distinguished from the species by the narrow pyramidal crown. All the lateral branches nestle parallel to the straight trunk. This tree also grows less tall than the species, 8 - 12 (15) m. The trunk is grey and develops shallow grooves at a later stage. The young twigs are greenish-grey, later reddish-brown. The leaves are identical to those of the species. In the autumn the leaves turn yellow. 'Fastigiatum' flowers only at a later age and produces far fewer flowers than the species. The fruit is identical to that of L. tulipifera. Deep loose soil is required because of the deeply penetrating fleshy taproot. Winter hardiness zone: 5b
Our trees can only be planted when they don't have any leaves. Due to the this we will start delivering again from November 2025.
