Euonymus hamiltonianus 'Indian Summer' Euonymus hamiltonianus 'Indian Summer'

'Indian Summer' grows into a substantial shrub or small tree with a broad ovoid to round crown of 3-5 m in height, higher (10 m) under favourable growing conditions. It is a healthy, well-growing cultivar whose young twigs are light brownish-red and the old bark grey-brown and grooved. The oval-lanceolate leaves are mid-green and turn a beautiful deep red in autumn. This autumn colouring starts around mid-October and can last for almost two months. The green flowering is inconspicuous, but the dark pink fruits containing orange seeds are striking.
