Cupressaceae

Cryptomeria japonica 'Globosa Nana' Cryptomeria japonica 'Globosa Nana'

This slow-growing cultivar forms an almost spherical large shrub to about 2 m high. 'Globosa Nana' is very regularly branched with short twigs that branch strongly at the tips, the tips of which are typically curved. The scaly needles are 5 - 8 mm long and yellow-green. In winter, the foliage turns blue-green. 'Globosa Nana' has a very regular plant form and grows fine. It is also well hardy and can therefore be widely used in gardens and parks.
The name 'Globosa Nana' was given in the Netherlands in 1923, but the plant was probably imported from Japan and had therefore been in cultivation there longer. Hardiness zone: 6a
