Crataegus ×lavalleei Crataegus ×lavalleei

Crataegus x lavalleei is a small tree up to 7 m tall. The crown is somewhat irregularly rounded and looks heavy because of its denseness and the deep green leaves. The leaves are matt glossy and feel leathery. In the spring the young leaves emerge red. They remain on the tree for a long time in the autumn. The thorns, 4 cm long, are remarkable. The white flowers appear in loose umbels in May and June. Later pale orange fruits appear and stay on the tree until winter. They are approx. 1.5 to 1.8 cm in size. Can be used in parks, streets and small gardens. Winter hardiness zone: 5a Crataegus x lavalleei is at its best in the spring when the glossy dark green leaves serve as a background for the white flowers.
