This moderately tall tree has a broad and irregular crown growing to a height of up to 12 m. The crown is formed by branches that spread as they grow. There are few thorns on the branches. The leaves are elongated to narrow elliptical and are glossy green. The white flowers appear in umbels in May and June. The fruits follow in late summer. They are approx. 1 cm in diameter, red, and they remain on the tree for a long time. Because of its broad manner of growth this tree requires a roomy site. Suitable for parks and avenues.
