Cornaceae

Cornus florida 'Cloud Nine' Cornus florida 'Cloud Nine'

Grows from a shrub into a small, multi-stemmed tree with a broad, somewhat irregular, flat-topped, spherical crown. This cultivar has dark green leaves that barely change colour in autumn. Each flower head is surrounded by four white bracts that conspicuously overlap each other. Blossoms very profusely even when young. Performs very well in a warmer climate. Supposed to be hardier than other cultivars, this has never been proven in Europe. The plant is shallow rooting with a fibrous root system and requires humic soil, which is not too dry.
