Small tree with branches rising in successive horizontal layers. ‘Pagoda’ was specially selected for its good, regular habit. The crown eventually becomes as broad as it is tall. The young twigs turn from reddish brown to greenish brown. The leaf is irregular in shape and glossy dark green. In autumn it turns purplish red. Because the leaves curl up a little in autumn, their conspicuously light undersides become clearly visible. The large, umbel-shaped flower corymbs can be followed by small, dark blue berries. However, the fruit yield is very variable and certainly not guaranteed. Shallow rooting with a fine root system. Lends itself well to pruning to create an arbour. Because the sap starts flowing early in the year, pruning should be done in summer or autumn.
Our trees can only be planted when they don't have any leaves. Due to the this we will start delivering again from November 2025.
