Castanea sativa 'Lyon'. A small tree with a maximum height of up to approx. 7 m. The squat crown has an irregular shape. The leaves and flowers are similar to those of the species. But the major difference is that this clone produces an enormous quantity of fruit and bears a great deal while still young. The edible fruits are larger than those produced by the species. Suitable as a fruit tree in small garden and orchard. Winter hardiness zone: 6a
