Large tree with broad, wavy crown and a short, sturdy trunk. Very tightly closed crown, creating heavy shade. Adult specimens can reach 30 m in height with a width of over 20 m. The opposite leaves can reach 20 cm in diameter. They turn yellow-brown in autumn. The inflorescence is profuse and white, in 20 - 25 cm long erect panicles. The colouring of the macula (spot in the flower) from yellow to red is striking. What is special about this cultivar is that Cyrilles Clean stays virtually completely free of infestation by the Horse chestnut moth (Cameraria ohridella).
