The cultivar 'Rotterdam' is a healthy tree with an even habit and a rough trunk. It can reach circa 20 m. When juvenile it has a narrow pyramidal crown. In maturity the crown becomes a little vase-shaped. The leaf is 5-lobed and has a cordate leaf base. Flowers and fruits are of the species. This tree is applied as avenue and street tree, in the city or in the country side. It is a good wind resistant tree that, due to its being insensitive to sea wind, can perfectly be applied in coastal areas. Deep rooting. Thrives in almost any soil. Winter hardiness zone: 4
