Acer platanoides 'Schwedleri' can reach a height of over 20 m. The tree has a dense, large, closed crown, in maturity more rounded. The leaves unfurl brown red and turn dark green later. The second outgrowth also unfurls brown red. The flower panicles are ochre-yellow. A strong and much applied cultivar, usually as a park tree and along avenues and in green borders. 'Schwedleri' demands little from the soil, but does not tolerate wet soil. Wind resistant. Winter hardiness zone: 4
