Aceraceae

Acer campestre 'Baronne' Acer campestre 'Baronne'

Discovered by Eric Larsy in 2000 among a batch of seedlings in his nursery. The tree was notable for the absence of mildew. This columnar, small to medium size tree also grows more strongly than comparable cultivars. The leaves are bigger than with other cultivars, and dark green. The tree is free from red spider mites and mildew. Perfect avenue tree for narrow streets, housing estates, squares and green borders. Does not grow well enclosed by paved surfaces. Light corrective pruning may be necessary for the first four or five years after planting out to attain a good crown shape. The field where the tree was selected is called ‘Le Baron’, hence the cultivar name.
Our trees can only be planted when they don't have any leaves. Due to the this we will start delivering again from November 2025.
