In spring 2025, seven plane trees (Platanus × hispanica) with a trunk circumference of 40–45 cm were planted in a newly revitalised public space behind the Jednota department store on Paulínska Street in the centre of Trnava. The site, formerly used as a car park and pedestrian route towards the main square, was historically known as Zelený rínek.
It has now undergone a significant transformation into a calm zone with an emphasis on greenery, water features and a pleasant urban atmosphere. The aim of the revitalisation was to create a space for daily rest and social interaction for both residents and visitors. The plane trees were planted to form the natural centre of the area and provide shade in the future. They are complemented by container greenery, water fountains, new benches, bicycle stands and other urban furniture. The overall design has brought a calming effect to the area and turned a former transit route into a welcoming urban corner, where greenery plays a key role. The planting was carried out in cooperation with the City of Trnava.
