-Beijerland is a village that lies on the Oude Maas on the outskirts of Rotterdam. It is the largest town on the Hoekse Waard island and boasts a gorgeous old harbour. When its quaysides were in need of renovation, it was decided to plant new lime trees: 23 Tilia x europaea with stem girth 40-45 provide the green framework. The square located close to the harbour was also adorned with lime trees, although here the choice was for Tilia tomentosa ‘Brabant’. To embellish the roundabout at the entrance to the village, three substantial lime trees (Tilia x europaea) in sizes 120-140-160 were planted on the roundabout. The municipality of Oud-Beijerland itself took care of the planting.
