‘House of Nature’ is an impressive steel sculpture located on the edge of the Sahara, standing 7.5 meters tall and 50 meters wide. From the summer of 2024, it will serve as the starting point for walks in the Sahara, passing by the lookout tower "Reus van Bosland."
Created by artist Will Beckers, this sculpture is situated at the Lommel gateway of the Bosland National Park. The artwork is entirely made of steel and seamlessly integrated with the surrounding nature, accessible through a human-shaped passage. Beckers' work, based on observations of natural processes, expresses his respect for nature.
For this project, we supplied multi-stemmed Quercus robur and Pinus sylvestris trees. These trees were used as landscaping elements, contributing to the natural integration and biodiversity of the area.
A walking and experience path, suitable for buggies, leads from the parking area to the gateway, with sculptures and a climbing course for children along the way.
In late June 2024, 'House of Nature' won a platinum award at the London Design Awards.
