Tilia cordata 'Rancho' Tilia cordata 'Rancho'

Tiliaceae

Tilia cordata 'Rancho' Tilia cordata 'Rancho'

American cultivar that greatly resembles 'Böhlje'. Develops a tight, narrow, pyramidal crown that later becomes narrow ovoid. 'Rancho' has a regular, upwards-slanting branching pattern. The lower branches are at a 45º angle to the straight trunk: the upper branches are at a 30º angle. The tree ultimately becomes approx. 6 m wide. The dark green leaves are somewhat larger and wider than those of the species, with a hear-shaped base, tapering to an abrupt point at the top. The leaves turn a remarkable yellow colour in the autumn. Pungent flowers appear in early summer, growing in short umbels. The light green bract is somewhat shorter than the umbel. Small fruit follows in late summer. T. cordata and its cultivars are fairly unsusceptible to aphids. Its narrow manner of growth makes 'Rancho' excellently suitable for streets and avenues.
Our trees can only be planted when they don't have any leaves. Due to the this we will start delivering again from November 2025.
