Slow growing spherical selection which will grow 4 to 6 m tall, depending on the graft height. Densely branched with olive green young twigs. The older branches and bark are grey and the bark is sometimes shallow grooved. The ovate to broad elliptical leaf is lobed to around halfway along the leaf blade. It is glossy dark green, turning red to reddish brown in autumn. Its compact spherical growth habit makes ‘Green Dwarf’ very suitable for use in narrow streets, in residential areas and squares. The tree tolerates air pollution and can also cope with wet soil.
