Prunus serrulata 'Amanogawa' is a slow growing large shrub or small tree with a columnar crown that droops somewhat at a later stage. Height up to approx. 6 m. The twigs are reddish-brown and have few lenticels. The lanceolate to oval-shaped leaves have a tapered top and turn orange in the autumn. Produces many flowers from the end of April to early May. The pale pink semi-double flowers have a faint scent and turn white. Seldom produces fruit. For gardens, parks, streets and as a solitary. It does not stand up to wet soil. Winter hardiness zone: 6a
