Small, densely branched tree with an irregular manner of growth, mostly with a fan-shaped to rounded crown. Height 6 - 8 m. The thin twigs droop and are grey-brown. The oval to obovate/ovoid leaves taper to a point and measure 3 - 6 cm. The leaf edge is double serrated. The leaves take on a yellow to orange colour in the autumn. Produces many small single white flowers with a pink calyx. Prunus incisa flowers very early, often as early as March or at the beginning of April. The flowers are followed by small purplish-black fruits. For parks, gardens and open verges. It prefers nutritious and humid soil. Winter hardiness zone: 6b
