Malus 'Wintergold' is a sturdy tree with a round crown and a height of 6 - 7 m. The leaves are shiny green and 3 - 5 cleft. The flower buds are pink, opened flowers pure white, 2.5 - 3.5 cm in diameter and single. Flowering is followed by bright yellow fruits, Ø about 1.5 cm, which remain on until January. 'Wintergold' is useful in parks, wide green spaces and small gardens. It has high soil requirements in terms of moisture and soil fertility. 'Golden Hornet' is an improved 'Wintergold'.
