Malus toringo 'Scarlett' is a cultivar of the wild ornamental apple species Malus toringo, distinguished by its double dark pink flowers. Unlike the single white blossoms of the wild species, 'Scarlett' has striking cascading double flowers in a dark pink hue. This creates a particularly decorative effect in spring. Besides the remarkable flowering, Malus toringo 'Scarlett' also produces slightly larger red fruits than the wild species. The compact, upright growth form with dark green shiny leaves is similar, but the double dark pink blooms make 'Scarlett' a significant improvement over the basic genotype.This cultivar of Malus toringo is widely used in public green spaces and private gardens because of its ornamental value.
