Malus domestica 'Jonathan' Malus domestica 'Jonathan'

'Jonathan', one of the parent varieties of 'Jonagold', is a medium-sized apple tree that grows moderately fast. The crown is semi-open and round to flattened spherical. Later in life, the crown is broad oval to almost round. The tree will grow 5-7 m tall. Light pink flowers open around mid-May. The buds are darker pink. The apples are ready for picking late in the season, around the end of October. They are regular in shape, broadly oval to round and medium-sized. The colour is yellow-green to golden yellow with a red blush or streaks. The creamy white flesh is crisp and juicy. It has a pleasant fresh sweet-sour smell and similar flavour. 'Jonathan' is a hand apple that keeps reasonably well. The apples are very suitable for direct consumption, but also for processing into purée and juice. This cultivar originated around 1826 in Woodstock, New York, USA. Hardiness zone 6.
Our trees can only be planted when they don't have any leaves. Due to the this we will start delivering again from November 2025.
