Fraxinus americana WINDY CITY ('Tures') Fraxinus americana WINDY CITY ('Tures')

This American selection is an extremely hardy, male form with an oval to broad ovoid crown. The tree has many branches, producing a compact crown up to about 9 m wide. The leaf appears late in spring and stays rather smaller than typical of the species. In autumn it turns a spectacular, deep wine red to orange-red with copper and golden yellow hues, often persisting until the first night frost. Is well anchored by its deep, branching tap root. Prefers moist soils and has a slight preference for acidic soils. Valuable, versatile tree.
Our trees can only be planted when they don't have any leaves. Due to the this we will start delivering again from November 2025.
