Fagus sylvatica 'Purpurea Pendula' is slow-growing weeping beech. The main branches grow downwards in an arch, young twigs droop loosely. The deep red-brown leaves are oval to ovate and 4 - 10 cm. It is suitable for smaller gardens when used as a solitary. Requires not too wet, well-drained soil, rich in humus content. Moderate wind resistance. Winter hardiness zone: 6a
