Broad ovoid Taller than 12 metres/ 1st size Dark, dense crown

A medium-sized tree with a compact and regular, egg-shaped crown which grows wider when maturing, but still remains dense. The height reaches up to 15 m. The leaves are shiny dark green and rather large with a yellow-orange autumn colour. The tree flowers before the leaves unfurl with quite large upright and spreading yellow-green flowers. In full bloom the tree is a real harbinger of spring. 'Cleveland' is very suitable as a town tree, because it needs little pruning and is tolerant to heat. Moreover, it has a good wind resistance. Suitable for industrial estates. The tree is very tolerant to any soil. Winter hardiness zone: 4
